The club was originally formed in the season 1908/1909.

The club was re-formed most recently in 1989 and started out in division 5 of the Saturday Huddersfield and District League. They have progressed through the 4th division and went into the 3rd, before relegation back to the 4th in the 2005/2006 season.

Hade Edge AFC are in the fortunate position of owning their own pitch and having their own clubhouse and changing rooms.

All three senior teams play in the club colours which are:

Orange shirts, black shorts and orange/black socks.
